Eine Pressemitteilung von Anonymous bzgl. der Situation in Syrien. Wir dürfen gespannt sein...

Greetings to our friends around the world,

We are Anonymous, the global resistance to tyranny.

As you read this, Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria, wages a bloody and brutal war on his people who seek nothing more than self-expression in the face of oppression.

The Syrian government actively controls the free flow of information for its own sinister motives through a complete international media blackout. The state owns a monopoly over the Syrian media, prohibits any critical analysis of the regime, and freely arrests journalists and bloggers on a whim. Digital surveillance is common, and upon arrest, many citizens are tortured until they reveal their social network accounts and passwords.

Indeed, the Syrian public faces the very real threat of strict monitoring of all online activity through a widespread government surveillance system. Every single Syrian’s web browsing is monitored, censored and recorded at all times using technology provided by Blue Coat Systems. Surveillance software has been installed at all Internet cafes to record every single site visited and word typed. In Syria, simply viewing a website can get you arrested. Such extreme restrictions and surveillance are violative of essential human rights.

For all the attempts to hide their atrocities from the international media, Assad and his corrupt cronies cannot hide the blood and tears of the Syrian people. For months, security forces have systematically engaged in murder, beatings, torture, disappearances, imprisonment and other inhumane acts aimed at stopping the quest for freedom and democracy.

In early August, forces pulled thousands from their homes, herded them into a sports stadium, seized their IDs and cell phones, and detained them for days. A two-year old girl was shot in the eye and killed - her father then shot and detained as he rushed to her lifeless body. A popular blogger was detained in July and has not been seen since then. A famous political cartoonist was beaten, had both hands broken and warned to stop satirizing government officials. Yet the Syrian government claims it has only engaged in operations to combat armed terrorist gangs. However, what gangs are spread over 185 thousand square kilometers and are comprised of children, bloggers and cartoonists?

Anonymous will not stand by idly while states like Syria degrade the common humanity of their citizens through the menaces of violence, surveillance and repression. We will actively challenge governments that engage in censorship and that wage bloody wars on their own people. We will strike in defense of the Syrian people. Assad: we will ensure that the world knows of your brutality and of the suffering of your people. Your blatant lies will be laid bare for the entire world to see. We will do everything we can to assist the Syrian people until you are toppled from power.

Today, Syrians struggle for the very soul of their country. As long as the state uses oppressive tactics to restrict its people, we will not rest. The road to Damascus has been taken and there is no turning back now.

Come for the revolution, stay for the lulz,

Das ist jetzt jedoch nicht mehr möglich, weil es seit Anfang Juli kein verfassungskonformes Bundestagswahlrecht mehr gibt. Die Regierung hat es nicht für nötig befunden, das letzte verbleibende Recht des Souveräns – das Wahlrecht – innerhalb von drei Jahren verfassungsgemäß umzugestalten.

Damit sind alle Voraussetzungen nach Artikel 20(4) gegeben.

Diese Regierung ist der demokratische Abschaum, sie verhöhnt das Volk und tritt seine Rechte mit Füßen. Wir sind endgültig in der Diktatur angelangt.

Lange (!) Dokumentation mit Charlie Veitch und Press for Truth über das G20-Treffen 2010 in Toronto. Darin wird ziemlich deutlich aufgezeigt, wie weit sich auch Kanada von einer freien Gesellschaft entfernt hat. Die Mucke ist anfangs ein bisschen überdosiert, das hört aber schnell auf. So richtig krass wird's ab 1:15:00 mit dem völlig unnötigen Polizeikessel. Schaut's euch genau an. Das ist die neue Weltordnung.

Ha! Ein gewisser "Greg Maxwell" hat 33GB wissenschaftlicher Publikationen aus den "Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society" für jedermann verfügbar ins Internet gestellt. Warum tut er dies? Aus Protest dagegen, dass dieses eigentlich frei verfügbare Wissen hinter Bezahlangeboten verschanzt wird. Am 19.7. wurde Aaron Swartz angeklagt, weil er sich Millionen wissenschaftliche Arbeiten aus JSTOR herunterlud, ohne dafür zu bezahlen. Das ging "Gregory Maxwell" gehörig auf den Senkel. Ein Auszug aus der sehr lesenswerten beiliegenden Erklärung:

[... Sie stammen alle] aus alle aus der Zeitschrift Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, die für alle frei verfügbar sein sollte, bisher aber größtenteils durch paywall-Wächter wie JSTOR nur zu hohen Preisen verfügbar waren.

Linus von Netzpolitik meint dazu:

Man kann da einerseits von einem großen Verlust für die Lizenzinhaber sprechen – ich jedoch empfinde den bisherigen Verlust der Weltöffentlichkeit, durch enorme Kosten von diesem Wissen ausgeschlossen zu sein als sehr viel herber.

Da gebe ich ihm vollumfänglich recht. Wissenschaftliche Arbeiten sollten frei verfügbar sein, damit andere Wissenschaftler darauf aufbauen können. Ihr habt sicher mitbekommen, dass weltweit Hacktivisten von Anonymous verhaftet werden. Meine Meinung dazu habe ich bereits kundgetan. Hier ist die Antwort von Anonymous und Lulz Security:

Now let us be clear here, Mr. Chabinsky, while we understand that you and
your colleagues may find breaking into websites unacceptable, let us tell
you what WE find unacceptable:

* Governments lying to their citizens and inducing fear and terror to keep
them in control by dismantling their freedom piece by piece.

* Corporations aiding and conspiring with said governments while taking
advantage at the same time by collecting billions of funds for
federal contracts we all know they can't fulfil.

* Lobby conglomerates who only follow their agenda to push the profits
higher, while at the same time being deeply involved in governments around
the world with the only goal to infiltrate and corrupt them enough
so the status quo will never change.

These governments and corporations are our enemy. And we will continue to
fight them, with all methods we have at our disposal, and that certainly
includes breaking into their websites and exposing their lies.

We are not scared any more. Your threats to arrest us are meaningless to
us as you cannot arrest an idea. Any attempt to do so will make your
citizens more angry until they will roar in one gigantic choir. It is our
mission to help these people and there is nothing - absolutely nothing - you

Let me ask you, good sir, when was the Internet not the Wild Wild West? Do
you really believe you were in control of it at any point? You were not.

on the Internet because you have forced our hand. The Anonymous bitchslap rings
through your ears like hacktivism movements of the 90s. We're back - and we're

Was haben eine Sitzblockade und eine Distributed-Denial-of-Service-Attacke (DDOS) gemeinsam? Beide sind recht harmlose Mittel, um Leuten den Zugang zu etwas zu verhindern. Im Falle einer Sitzblockade wird z.B. eine Baustelle blockiert, im Falle einer DDOS-Attacke eine Website. Beides ist relativ harmlos und birgt für die Blockierten keinerlei Gefahren.

Die Polizei sieht das naturgemäß anders und spricht im einen Fall von Nötigung und im anderen Fall gerne von Cyberkrieg. Beides Blödsinn, aber so ist es eben.

Nun werden weltweit Kids festgenommen, die an DDOS-Attacken im Zuge der Aktionen von Anonymous (AnonOps) beteiligt waren. Diese Attacken sind kein Hack, hier werden keine Daten verändert oder gar gestohlen. Es wird lediglich eine Website so lange mit sinnlosen Anfragen zugeschissen, bis der Rechner in die Knie geht. Die Staatsmacht geht jetzt allerdings mit voller Härte gegen die Anonymous-Kiddies vor, so wie sie auch gegen die Bürger in Hamburg, Gorleben, Dresden und Stuttgart vorgeht. Anonymous wurden als "Terroristen" gebrandmarkt, was im Endeffekt Neusprech für "vogelfrei" ist.
